Product Description
Skin care for pregnancy and for babies usually means several different products, most of them built on the simplest carrier oils. We took it a step further and created a single oil from natural ingredients chosen to work together to nourish the skin and improve its elasticity.
At its core is lanolin oil, an ingredient that has undeservedly fallen out of favour in mainstream skin care despite its unique properties. Its composition of wax and sterol esters, including cholesterol, which is also found in human skin, gives it a natural affinity with the skin and helps support its lipid barrier. It forms a light, breathable protective layer on the skin's surface that limits water loss, smooths, and helps maintain softness and comfort.
The base is completed by cold pressed organic golden jojoba oil. It is in fact a liquid wax, made up mainly of long chain wax esters similar to those found in human sebum. This pairing is no coincidence, an animal wax and a plant wax that each work with the skin's natural lipid barrier in their own way.
The base is rounded out with borage seed oil, one of the richest plant sources of gamma linolenic acid, and plum seed oil, which provides oleic acid. Together they create a varied lipid profile that supports complete care, a healthy look and the elasticity of the skin.
Rounding out the ingredient list are calendula flower extract and natural vitamin E. Calendula soothes and calms irritation, supporting the care of delicate and demanding skin. Vitamin E strengthens antioxidant protection, helping to shield the skin's own lipids from oxidative stress while also protecting the oils in the product from oxidation.
We deliberately left out sweet almond oil, a common choice in this category, so that Baby & Belly Oil can also be used by anyone avoiding nut derived ingredients. This matters in particular in baby skin care, as the literature describes the possibility of transcutaneous exposure to almond proteins where the skin barrier is compromised. **
Instructions for use
Apply a small amount of the oil to clean, damp skin and massage in gently. Use daily over the whole body, including the skin of the belly during pregnancy and after birth. Also suitable for baby skin care and baby massage from the first day of life.
Shake before use.
A slight haze and crystallisation at lower temperatures are a natural feature of lanolin oil and do not affect the quality or performance of the product.
A natural, subtle scent that comes from the ingredients themselves, the floral and herbal character of calendula combined with the sweet, marzipan note of plum seed oil.

Lanolin oil is the liquid fraction of lanolin, the natural wax that coats sheep's wool. The same raw material that protects sheep from moisture and cold is closely related to the lipids of human skin, and that is exactly why we are bringing it back.
Our lanolin oil is produced and purified in Europe, and every batch is tested for purity. The lanolin comes from wool sourced with respect for animal welfare and is suitable for vegetarians.
