The hydrosol obtained from branches of the bird cherry tree is a truly aromatic wonder with a very intense, sweet, almond-like and almost marzipan-like aroma. This intense, sweet fragrance can easily serve as a natural, non-toxic alternative to women's perfumes, but also for perfuming interiors.

However, bird cherry is more than just about the fragrance. Bird cherry hydrosol contains many flavonoids, anthocyanins, phenolic compounds, cyanogenic glucosides, tannins and organic acids. These compounds have an extremely strong antioxidant effect and form the basis of astringent, anti-inflammatory, anaesthetic and antibacterial properties of the hydrosol.

Thanks to its constituents, which help reduce inflammation and have an astringent effect, the hydrosol has traditionally been used topically as a liquid to wash inflamed, swollen eyes.
